Okay, here’s the surprise at the end of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York Museum & Gold Vault Tour.
At the end of the tour, Maureen produced a basket and gave every attendee one of these:

If you visit the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and take their tour, you get a literal bag of money. Shredded money, but still.
About fifty bills worth, who knows what denomination.
I have no idea what I’m going to do with my little bag of money. But as I said, I found it really sweet. The mere idea that a museum would give visitors a gift is super rare. I mean, at best sometimes you get a postcard for free. And that’s just old-school, inefficient viral marketing for the museum…
At any rate, I was surprised and delighted to receive any little gift at all, much less something so uniquely appropriate to the Fed.
